The NYSVMS Veterinary Facility Accreditation Program (VFAP) standards, offer veterinarians a solid and practical foundation on which to evaluate their practices. Our program helps ensure that your facility complies with acceptable standards of practice as well as state and federal laws and regulations. ( Participation in VFAP does not guarantee full compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.) Participation in the NYSVMS facility accreditation program signifies commitment to excellence in facility professionalism, appearence, maintenace, and quality patient care. Evidence of adherence to these standards is determined through on-site evaluations by trained VFAP evaluators. Among standard topics are: Examination of exterior and interior building; Pharmacy; Clinical Pathology Laboratory; Medical Records; OSHA compliance; Radiology Department; Public Health, Surgery Deparment; Safety.
