                                        b) monitor and assist calving as needed (see enclosed sheet for guideline)

                                       b)  milk out 4 quarts of colustrum and feed to calf immediately

                                       c)  remove calf to clean, dry, draft free area immediately

                                       d)  ear tag heifer calves and record calf and dam number

                                       b)  2nd lactation or higher give one dose of calcium by tube (under skin or iv)

                                       c)  give 5 cc of oxytocin if has not cleaned within 2 hours             

                             d)  give 16 oz of propylene glycol once a day for 3 days   

                                       e)  Monitor temp for 10 days and treat as for fresh cow treatment protocol

                                        f)  Check for urine ketones and report strong positives to your veterinarian
